Pollen
Pollen is produced by the anther of the flower. Pollen is the male portion of the sexual reproductive process in plants as it contains the sperm cells. Pollen is dust like in nature and each pollen grain contains two cells. One of these cells will divide, forming the sperm cells. Pollen is very durable and it can survive for thousands of years under proper conditions. The grains have a distinctive shape and different species of plants may be identifed by the pollen.
