Cell
The cell is the basic building block of a living organism, plant or animal. The term “cell” was coined by the first man, Robert Hooke, to look at one using a microscope of his own construction in 1665. The word originates from the Latin word “cella,” which means “small room.” A plant cell is a fairly complex unit which contains the necessary components for a plant to convert sunlight into energy, allowing the plant to grow and reproduce.
